Here is Dawkins in The Greatest Show on Earth (2009), page62, footnote:

The misunderstanding of the Darwinian struggle for existence as a struggle between GROUPS of individuals – the so-called “group selection fallacy” – is unfortunately not confined to Hitlerian racism. It constantly resurfaces in amateur misinterpretations of Darwinism, and even among some professional biologists who should know better.

To call Dawkins an intemperate evangelical zealot, a self-appointed Grand Inquisitor rooting out heresy, would be stating the obvious. (No prize for guessing to whom he’s alluding in this bit of invective). We’ve seen it before with Margulies, Lovelock and Gould, among others. It won’t end until he dies. I still read some of his books, though I can’t say that I’ll miss him that much when he’s gone.

Truly amazing how somebody can simultaneously be so right and so wrong.
